The Icelandic Literature Center met up with international publishers and literature promoters, presenting, for the first time, its catalog Books from Iceland, an overview of the Icelandic books of last year.

The Icelandic Literature Center participated in the Frankfurt Book Fair, which took place October 9-13. The book fair, which is attended annually by approximately 300,000 guests, sported over 7000 exhibitors from 100 countries. It was enjoyable to witness book fair guests talking of the Icelandic guest of honor pavilion from 2011, which received praise for shining the limelight on the heart of each book fair, namely the readers and books themselves. The steady trickle of news on the good reception of Icelandic literature abroad has evidently attracted attention, and now bears fruit in an ever-growing interest from foreign publishers, promoters and media.

In Frankfurt The Icelandic Literature Center met up with publishers and other industry representatives from over 15 countries, presenting, for the first time, its catalog Books from Iceland, an overview of the Icelandic books of last year. We aim to make similar compilations annually for book fairs abroad. Below are a few pictures from the Frankfurt Book Fair 2013.
