The Icelandic Booksellers' Prize / Nominations for the Icelandic Women's Literature Prize

On December 11, the fourteenth Icelandic Booksellers' Literature Prize  was announced, among winners were Mánasteinn (Moonstone) by Sjón, for best Icelandic novel, and Tímakistan (Timebox) by Andri Snær Magnason for best Icelandic young adult book.

On December 11, the fourteenth Icelandic Booksellers' Literature Prize was announced  on the state television's literature show Kiljan. The Icelandic Bookseller's Association hands out the prize, and the winners are picked by the staff of the country's bookstores. Prizes are given out in nine categories of both original and translated titles. Among the winners were Mánasteinn (Moonstone) by Sjón, for best Icelandic novel, and Tímakistan (Time Chest) by Andri Snær Magnason for best Icelandic children's book. 

On the same day, nominations for the Icelandic Women's Literature Prize were announced at the Reykjavík City Library. The prize, awarded annually since 2007, was established by women within the Icelandic Writers' Union and The Association of Non-Fiction and Educational Writers in Iceland, as an encouragement for Icelandic women writers. The prize is handed out in three categories: fiction, books for children and young adults, and non-fiction.
