Icelandic authors Sjón, Yrsa Sigurðardóttir, Eiríkur Örn Norðdahl, Andri Snær Magnason and Lani Yamamoto will be at the 2014 Göteborg Book Fair. Welcome to the Icelandic stand in Göteborg number C02:01.

The Icelandic Literature Center participates in the Göteborg Book Fair, which takes place September 25-28 this year. This will mark the 30th time that the event, which annually attracts roughly 100,000 guests, takes place.

The Icelandic stand at the Göteborg Book Fair is a collaboration with Promote Iceland, and features portraits of the authors by photographer Íris Dögg Einarsdóttir.  Some of the events scheduled there include a book market, courtesy of the Icelandic Publishers' Association, and a presentation of new translations of the Sagas of Icelanders into Swedish, Danish and Norwegian. The stand number is C02:01.

The next steps of the Nordic promotional push

In spring 2015, the ILC will give presentations of Icelandic literature to Norwegian and Finnish publishers, in collaboration with the Icelandic embassies in Oslo and Helsinki, in the same vein as it did for Danish and Swedish publishers in May.

At the 2015 Göteborg Book Fair, Icelandic literature and authors will be placed in the spotlight at the dedicated programme Voices from / Röster Från. For the occasion, a group of Icelandic authors will be invited to take part in book fair's schedule of events, the Icelandic stall will be bigger, and various other Icelandic cultural events will take place in Göteborg during the book fair. In 2014, the programme is dedicated to Catalonian literature.
