Last June, a bi-national troupe of six writers, spoken-word artists and performers traveled around Iceland, seeking to be inspired by the country's landscapes and literary heritage.

The project – a collaboration between Sagenhaftes Island and Goethe Zentrum Dänemark – is part of Iceland's contribution to the 2011 Frankfurt Book Fair. The entourage included three German-speaking writers and spoken-word artists: Bas Böttcher, Finn-Ole Heinrich, and the Swiss-German Nora Gomringer – and three Icelanders: Bergur Ebbi Benediktsson, Ugla Egilsdóttir and Dóri DNA. The journey came to an end at the Reykjavík pub and poetry stronghold Næsti Bar, where the group performed their material and discussed the trip.
