Travel Grants

The application form is available here as an online application 4 weeks before the next application date.

The Icelandic Literature Center contributes towards travel costs. Icelandic authors, foreign publishers or organisations arranging events can apply for travel grants for Icelandic authors travelling to promote their works abroad. It is possible to apply for the grant up to eight weeks after the travel.

The travel grant is a contribution towards flight or train cost, not accommodation or other travel expenses. 

All publications (brochures, programmes, handouts, electronic publications, etc.) connected with an event must include the logo from The Icelandic Literature Center.

To be enclosed with the application:

• A presentation of the author and previously published and translated titles.
• A copy of invitations or contracts associated with the travel.

Application deadlines: 15 January, 15 May and 15 September. 

You will be informed of the committee's decision no more than 6 weeks after the deadline. Once all cases from the same deadline have been completed, the result is sent out by email, once you have submitted the application.
