Yrsa Sigurðardóttir, John Swedenmark and Erlingur Óttar Thoroddsen take part in an event called Café Norden Island at the fair. 

 

The Gothenburg Book Fair is the largest literary event in the Nordic countries and this year celebrates its 40th anniversary. This year's themes are the Sámi culture and the space.

Icelandic Literature Center at the fair 

Representatives from Icelandic Literature Center will attend the fair to meed publishers from the Nordic countries and others interested in Icelandic literature. The goal of the meetings is to introuduce new titles and authors from Iceland. The Center focuses on titles presented in Books from Iceland 2024. Are you interested in meeting with us? Icelandic culture highlighted at Café Norden Iceland

Icelandic culture will be in the forefront in this relaxed talk-show event where discussions with guests and music will be combined at the fair. Among guests will be crime author Yrsa Sigurðardóttir, translator John Swedenmark, film director Erlingur Óttar Thoroddsen and singer Birkir Blær. More information on the event in Swedish here.
The event is hosted by Föreningen Norden, The Icelandic Embassy in Sweden, The Swedish-Icelandic Co-operation Fund and The Icelandic Literature Center.
