The Icelandic Booksellers' Prize 2014

On December 17, the 15th Icelandic Booksellers' Literature Prize  was announced, among winners were Öræfi (Wastelands) by Ófeigur Sigurðsson, for best Icelandic novel, and Hafnfirðingabrandarinn (The Local Joke) by Bryndís Björgvinsdóttir for best Icelandic young adult book.


On December 17, the 15th Icelandic Booksellers' Literature Prize was announced on the state television's literature show Kiljan. The Icelandic Bookseller's Association hands out the prize, and the winners are picked by the staff of the country's bookstores. Prizes are given out in nine categories of both original and translated titles. Among winners were Öræfi (Wastelands) by Ófeigur Sigurðsson, for best Icelandic novel, and Hafnfirðingabrandarinn (The Local Joke) by Bryndís Björgvinsdóttir for best Icelandic young adult book.
