300+ Icelandic books in Swedish translation

It is gratifying to observe Swedes’ enthusiasm for Icelandic literature: over the past century more than 300 books by Icelandic writers have been translated into Swedish and published in Sweden.

John Swedenmark, one of the most prolific translators from Icelandic into Swedish in recent years, has compiled the list seen below. 

In 2019 John won the Orðstír prize for translators of Icelandic literature into other languages, and he has received many other awards in Sweden for his translation work.
