Nominations for The Women's Literature Prize (Fjöruverðlaunin)

Nine books by Icelandic female writers are nominated for The Women's Literature Prize 2020 in three categories; Fiction, Non-Fiction and Children & YA. 

The Women's Literature Prize (Fjöruverðlaunin) will be awarded on January 15th 2020. Below is a list of this year's nominated works in each category; Fiction, Non-Fiction and Children & YA. 

Fiction - Nominated works:

  • Kristín Ómarsdóttir: Svanafólkið. Publisher: Partus 
  • Brynja Hjálmsdóttir: Okfruman. Publisher: Una 
  • Bergþóra Snæbjörnsdóttir: Svínshöfuð. Publisher: Benedikt

Children and Young Adult - Nominated works:

  • Margrét Tryggvadóttir: Kjarval: Málarinn sem fór sínar eigin leiðir. Publisher: Iðunn (Forlagið)

  • Bergrún Íris Sævarsdóttir: Kennarinn sem hvarf. Publisher: Bókabeitan

  • Ragnhildur Hólmgeirsdóttir: Villueyjar. Publisher: Björt (Bókabeitan)

Non-Fiction - Nominated works:

  • Unnur Birna Karlsdóttir. Öræfahjörðin: Saga hreindýra á Íslandi. Publisher: Sögufélag
  • Sigríður Kristín Þorgrímsdóttir: Jakobína: Saga skálds og konu. Publisher: Mál og menning (Forlagið)
  • Ragnheiður Björk Þórsdóttir: Listin að vefa. Publisher: Vaka-Helgafell (Forlagið)
