My Soul to Take nominated for Shamus Prize
The thriller My Soul to Take by Icelandic crime queen Yrsa Sigurðardóttir has been nominated for the 2010 Shamus Awards, in the category of “Best Hardcover.” The prize is awarded by The Private Eye Writers of America “to recognize outstanding achievement in private eye fiction.”
My Soul to Take is Sigurðardóttir's second thriller. Her crime debut, Last Rituals, was a bestseller in Iceland and has now been published in twenty-five languages.
Sigurdardóttir's book is the only translated work to be nominated for the Shamus Prize this year. The winners, which will be announced in October, have previously included Sue Grafton, Michael Connelly and Dennis Lehane, among others.
