The Icelandic Literature Center will focus on ensuring the visibility of Icelandic literature at the Göteborg Book Fair in September, where Icelandic writers will be a prominent feature under the header Voices from Iceland.

The Icelandic Literature Center has undertaken a three-year promotional push in the Nordic countries, aiming to increase the number of Nordic translations of Icelandic literature. In collaboration with the Icelandic embassies in Copenhagen and Stockholm, Oslo and Helsinki, ILC has staged events to present Icelandic contemporary literature to Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish publishers.

In September this year the Icelandic Literature Center will also focus on ensuring the visibility of Icelandic literature and Icelandic authors at the Göteborg Book Fair under the title Voices from Iceland, where no less than 15 Icelandic authors will participate in around 40 programmes.

Among Icelandic authors in the program in Göteborg are the Icelandic crime writer Arnaldur Indriðason along with Auður Ava Ólafsdóttir, Jón Kalman Stefánsson and Jónína Leósdóttir together with her wife Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir, former Prime Minister of Iceland.
