Participate in Krasnoyarsk Book Culture Fair and Les boréales
Icelandic authors travel around the world, with a support from the Icelandic Literature Center, in order to promote they´re works. Two Festivals will take place in November where authors from Iceland participate in readings or panel discussions, one in Siberia, the other in France.
The role of the Icelandic Literature Center is to raise awareness of Icelandic literature, both within Iceland and abroad, and promote its distribution. Therefore, Icelandic authors travel around the world, with a support from the Icelandic Literature Center, in order to promote they´re works.
Two established Festivals will take place in November where authors from Iceland participate in readings or panel discussions, one in Siberia, the other in France.
Krasnoyarsk Book Culture Fair (KRYAKK) in Siberia 2 - 6 November
Krasnoyarsk Book Culture Fair (KRYAKK) will be in Siberia, Russia 2 - 6 November. The Icelandic children´s books authors, Ævar Þór Benediktsson and Hildur Knútsdóttir, will participate in the Nordic children program where there is an emphasis on technology and science. This is the first time Iceland takes part in the fair.
Les boréales in Normandy 16 - 26 November
Les boréales; un festival en nord 26th edition will be from 16 to 26 November in Normandy, France. Iceland is in focus and many Icelandic authors and artists will participate and perform in the ambitious festival´s program. Among them are the writers Auður Ava Ólafsdóttir, Jón Kalman Stefánsson, Sjón, Lilja Sigurðardóttir, Ragnar Helgi Ólafsson, Steinunn Jóhannesdóttir and Ragnar Jónasson. Other art forms also play a great role in the festival and the musicians Víkingur Heiðar Ólafsson, Ásgeir Trausti and band Amiina will perform, and several films and documentaries by Icelandic filmmakers will be screened.
