The annual NordLit meeting held in Reykjavík

Icelandic Literature Center hosted the annual meeting with the network of Nordic Literary Organizations. The meeting was held in Reykjavík January 14-17.

Icelandic Literature Center hosted the annual meeting with the network of Nordic Literary Centers. The meeting was held in Reykjavík January 14-17. Participants touched on various issues regarding the Centers' work and furthered their plans for ongoing collaboration.

The association of Nordic literature centers, NordLit, has had a good and fruitful collaboration for years with the common goal of promoting the increased visibility and distribution of Nordic literature, in various ways.

The staff of the centers exchanged ideas and learn a lot from each other. the network meets in one of the countries' capitals in rotation and now it was Iceland turn.

In addition to the Icelandic Literature Center (Islit) the following centers are part of the network; Norla in Norway, Fili in Finland, FarLit in the Faroese Islands, Swedish Arts Council - Literature Exchange in Sweden, The Danish Arts Council in Denmark, Greenlit in Greenland and Samisk Kunstnerråd in Samiland.

The next Nordlit meeting will be in Helsinki in January 2026.

This year our Translators' Seminar was dedicated to Sjón - 16. June, 2025 News
