For those who have been awarded travel grants or grants for translation of Icelandic literature

With a temporary 50% guarantee of grants for translations the literature export organisations in the Nordic countries wish to encourage further exchange of literature and reinforce the support for translation of fiction, non-fiction and children's literature for the benefit of authors, translators, publishers and literary agencies.

Here are the awards and prizes granted last year where the pool was all published Icelandic books in various genres.

UPDATE: The Göteborg Book Fair will not be held as planned due to Coronavirus and no authors outside Sweden will participate this year.

Silvia Cosimini has translated over 70 Icelandic books into Italian, from Sagas to modern novels, and in conversation with Magnús Guðmundsson she talks about how this all started because she was the right person in the right time.

Every week, The Icelandic Literature Center receives copies of Icelandic works of literature in foreign translations, courtesy of the translation grants allocated by the Center. Here you can see a diverse collection of book covers of some of the recently published translations. They are available at the National Library of Iceland!
