Literary goings-on in October in Reykjavík

21. October, 2013

The second Reykjavík Reads Festival.

Airwords at Iceland Airwaves in Harpa's Kaldalón hall October 31.

The Reykjavík Reads Festival is now in full swing for the second year. Reykjavík – UNESCO City of Literature is behind the event, which highlights the city in its various incarnations in poetry and song lyrics written about it. The poetry press Meðgönguljóð is a partner to the proceedings this year, and has published the collection Ljóð í leiðinni: Skáld um Reykjavík (roughly: Poems Along for the Ride: Poets on Reykjavík) for the occasion. The volume contains 27 poems by an equal number of poets, most of them composed especially for the festival. The book is also available in electronic form at eBækur. More information on Reykjavík Reads can be found here.
