The new prize for books for children and young adults went to Bryndís Björgvinsdóttir for the novel Hafnfirðingabrandarinn (e. The Local Joke) published by Vaka Helgafell / Forlagid.
Öræfi (e. Wastelands - a novel) by Ófeigur Sigurðsson has received both the Icelandic Literay Prize 2014 and The Icelandic Book Seller Prize 2014 and in addition became a best selling novel in the year 2014 in Iceland.
Bryndís Björgvinsdóttir, the author of Hafnfirðingabrandarinn (e. The Local Joke) has received the three major Icelandic prizes for literature for her book in the category for books for Children and Young Adults, The Icelandic Literary Prize 2014, The Icelandic Book Sellers Prize 2014 and The Icelandic Women's Literature Prize 2015.
