The Icelandic Literature Center announces the new annual booklet, Books from Iceland 2024, which includes new and exciting Icelandic titles.  

Steinunn Sigurðardóttir, Gunnar Helgason/Rán Flygenring, and Haraldur Sigurðsson have been awarded The Icelandic Literary Prize 2023. Eva Björg Ægisdóttir was awarded the Blood Drop, The Icelandic Crime Fiction Awards

Icelandic Literature Center took part in a yearly meeting with the network of Nordic Literary Centers. The meeting was held in Copenhagen January 17-19. Participants touched on various issues regarding the Centers' work and furthered their plans for ongoing collaboration.

Icelandic Literature Center recently awarded 38 grants to foreign translation of Icelandic works into 17 foreign languages; these include children's books, fiction, classical literature and poetry.

This is the seventh year that Icelandic reading habits and attitudes towards reading and literature are examined in a large-scale survey

There is great interest in Icelandic literature in France, and now it has come to the point that large and respected French publishing houses publish many Icelandic titles annually. This unique success can also be attributed to the excellent and productive translators of Icelandic literature into French.

This year's winner has created an explosively visual picture book about how wild and uncontrollable nature affects humans. They skilfully weave image and text into a playfully humorous story about a motley crowd of tourists that encounters a volcanic eruption.
