Lani Yamamoto has written and illustrated six philosophical children's books, including the Albert series. Her most recent book, Egill spámaður, was nominated for the Nordic Council Children and Young People's Literature Prize, the Icelandic Literature Prize, and the Reykjavik Children's Book Award. Her previous book, Stína stórasæng, was nominated for the Nordic Council Children and Young People's Literature Prize and the Italian Scelte di Classe Award. It was awarded the Icelandic Women's Literature Prize and the Dimmalimm Illustration Award.
Lani holds a BA in psychology from Bryn Mawr College, a diploma in filmmaking from the London Film School, and master's degrees in both creative writing and the study of religions from the University of Oxford. In 2017, she was a Benediktson Fellow at the Leighton Artists Colony at Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity.
Her first novel, Ours and Others', is currently shortlisted for the 2020 Novel Prize from Fitzcarraldo Editions, New Directions Publishing, and Giramondo Publishing.
Originally from Boston, Lani has lived in Reykjavík for the past 25 years.

The Nobel laureate Halldór Laxness is the undisputed master of contemporary Icelandic fiction and considered one of the greatest European novelists of the twentieth century. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1955.

Ragnar Jónasson (b. 1976) is the award-winning author of the international bestselling Dark Iceland series and the Hidden Iceland series featuring Hulda. From the age of 17, Ragnar translated 14 Agatha Christie novels into Icelandic. Ragnar is a member of the UK Crime Writers' Association (CWA) and he is also the co- founder of the Reykjavik international crime writing festival Iceland Noir, and has appeared on festival panels worldwide.
Today, he lives in Reykjavik with his family, where he writes, works as a corporate lawyer, and teaches copyright law at Reykjavik University.

Einar Már Guðmundsson is one of the most widely translated Icelandic authors born in the postwar period. Gudmundsson has received many awards and distinctions for his books, such as the Norwegian Bjørnson Prize, the Scharnberg Memorial Award in Denmark, The Karen Blixen Medal, and The Giuseppe Acerbi Literary Prize in Italy. In 2012 Einar Mar Gudmundsson received the Swedish Academy's Nordic Prize, dubbed “The little Nobel”, for his contribution to literature.

Árni Þórarinsson is a nationally renowned award-winning journalist and a media personality. He has written several gripping crime novels and two TV scripts, one of which was nominated to The Edda Award (best television script of the year 2002). Þórarinsson was the editor of Mannlif magazine and has also been on the board of the Reykjavik Film Festival as well as a member of several panels of judges at international film festivals.

Huginn Þór Grétarsson was born in 1978 in the town of Akureyri, North of Iceland. As a young boy, he lived two years in Denmark until returning to Iceland and settling in the capital of Reykjavik. He studied economics at the University of Reykjavik and later worked at financial management at Lund University in Sweden. He published his first book in 2006, a travel journal from his trip to South America. Since then, he has written and translated more than 100 books, mostly for children and teenagers. He has also written a successful series of light-reading books. Every year, they reprint some of his children's books to meet demand, and several of them are published abroad.

Sjón is an Icelandic writer whose novels The Blue Fox, The Whispering Muse and From the Mouth of the Whale have been translated into more than thirty languages. He has won several awards including the Nordic Council's Literature Prize for The Blue Fox and has been shortlisted for the International Dublin Literary Award and the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize. Sjón has also published poetry collections, written four opera librettos and lyrics for various artists.

Arnaldur Indriðason has the rare distinction of having won the Nordic Crime Novel Prize two years running. He is also the winner of the highly respected and world-famous CWA Gold Dagger Award for the top crime novel of the year in the English language, Silence of the Grave. Her novels have earned great praise both in Iceland and abroad, including The Icelandic Women's Literature Prize for high quality innovative works by women, which she received for the novel By Herself. The book was also nominated for the Nordic Council Literature Prize. Her first book, published in 1987, received the Icelandic Children’s Literature Prize that year. Her book, An Angel in the Neighbourhood, won the Nordic Council Children and Young People’s Literature Prize in 2003. Steinsdóttir has received the highest order of the Republic of Iceland, the Order of the Falcon, for her contribution to Icelandic literature.
